January 16-21: International Funboarding Cup
Where: Bulabog Beach, Boracay

Enjoy a host of entertainment as some of the world's best windsurfers and kiteboards descend on Boracay for this annual competition. Events include slalom reaces, speed trials, freestyle, hang-time challenges and more. And after dark the social aspect of this events comes into its own with a huge range of nocturnal activities.

January 23: Chinese New Year
Where: Chinatown, Binodo, Manila

Chinese New Year is a huge celebration in Manila as the city boasts a bustling Chinatown district centred north of Intramuros in Binodo. Expect lions, dragons, red lanterns, deliciously fragrant food and a feast for all the senses from dawn until well into the night.
