Getting around Boracay

Walking is the best way to get around
Boracay is tiny, and most its visitors never even leave White Beach anyhow. There are few cars on the island and transfers from the ferry pier or between beaches and resorts is usually by pedicabs. Tricycles, motorcycles, and mountain bikes are also used. You'll seldom need them, unless you want to explore a bit.
Every part of the island can be reached by these modes of transport. More athletic tourists can rent a mountain bike and go around as they please, although if you want to take it easy, you can just charter a tricycle or pedicab to take you wherever you want.
Tricycles and pedicabs
Boracay tricycles are essentially motorcycles attached to a small trailer where three or four passengers can sit. Some modified trikes can even seat up to six passengers at a time and they are the most popular mode of transport around the island. Fares vary depending on the length of the trip as well as the time of day.
Daytime trips cost about Php7 per passenger if you’re just going between the main boat stations on White Beach, although will be higher beyond these stations. Since it is harder to navigate the island during nightfall, fares can double later on.
Pedicabs are just like trikes, only they don’t have motors and have to be pedalled by Mr driver. Pedicabs are useful when roaming around the White Beach area, since motorised vehicles are not allowed in this part of the island.
Prices range from 20 to 40 pesos per passenger depending, with prices going up later on. Pedicabs can be found stationed at the southern end of White Beach.
Vehicle rental on Boracay
Boracay has a fairly good road network and biking and motorcycling are possible throughout. Rental prices for motorbikes can be negotiated on a per-hour, or daily, basis, but they are generally very expensive due to suspected mafia monopoly. Rental agencies can be found near the beach area, along the main road, and on the main shopping strip, D’Mall. Tricycles (with rider) can also be chartered to tour the rest of the island, at about Php 200 per hour.
Quad bikes, or all terrain vehicles (ATVs) are a growing trend on Boracay and they are the perfect way to traverse the steep and rugged roads of the island. Quads are the best bet for getting to secuded areas and viewing decks. You can find ATV Rental shops in Barangay Yapak (near the entrance of the Fairways and Bluewater Resort Golf and Country Club) - get a trike to take you there.
A single-seater ATV costs about PhP 1,000, while a twin-seater is about PhP 1,500. You can also rent a bug car for about PhP 2,000. Rates are negotiable, especially if you are renting for more than a day, or more than one vehicle.
